Kiwi males admit love affair with their daily cups of coffee
A large number of New Zealand males admitted in our latest survey that they regularly consume more than five cups of coffee per day.
Health experts say that anything over three cups of coffee per day is ‘too much’ – but that’s not stopping most Kiwi males. Our results reveal that 40% of male respondents enjoy their favourite caffeinated beverage in excess, compared to only 17% of females.
Furthermore, 22% of New Zealand males are willing to spend more than $1000 on their own domestic coffee machine, while only 15% of females paid a similar price for theirs.
For any New Zealanders eager to brew their own perfect espresso, they should look to Italian brand DéLonghi. With a five star rating for overall satisfaction, DéLonghi received our most satisfied customers award for coffee machines.
Other coffee machine brands rated were Sunbeam and Breville.
New Zealand customers are most satisfied with their DéLonghi machine for nearly every criteria in our survey. However, Sunbeam also proved themselves a standout brand with five star wins for price, maintenance and warranty.
While many New Zealand coffee drinkers are content to enjoy their favourite beverage regardless of origin, a large portion of our respondents are conscious of where their coffee beans come from. Two in five of our survey respondents report that they only purchase fair trade coffee.
Fair Trade strives for decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for developing countries where most coffee beans are produced.
Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton Australia to survey 2,500 New Zealand consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from coffee machine customers within the survey group – in this case, 299 people. To qualify, the customer has to have purchased a domestic espresso coffee machine in the last three years. Brands must receive at least 30 responses to be included.
Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
