Life would be hard without the all the appliances and gadgets that make our modern lifestyles such as breeze. From kitchen basics, like cookers, fridges and dishwashers, to laundry essentials and heat pumps, our homes are stuffed full of myriad electrical devices.
Then there’s all the cool tech: tablets, smart TVs and powerful computers, that keep us informed, entertained and in control of our day-to-day lives.
And whatever your need or budget, there’s no shortage of options. From luxury brands to cheap and cheerful products, Kiwi consumers have plenty of choice when it comes to electrical appliances.
But if you’re shopping for a fridge, where do you start to look for the best deal? And how do you know if an electronic retailer will be able to offer you the right advice and true value for money? Answer: you let Canstar be your guide!
As part of our mission to inform consumers of the best NZ has to offer, Canstar Blue canvassed the opinions of New Zealanders who had bought a product from an electronics retailer in the last 12 months, across a range of categories. To decide which electronics retailer offers the best level of customer satisfaction, each was rated across the following categories:
- Overall Satisfaction
- Customer Service
- Layout of Store
- Price
- Range of Products
- Value for Money
Top pick: 100% Appliances
Coming out on top is 100% Appliances. Overall, it’s the only electronics retailer in our survey to earn our top 5 Star rating for Overall Satisfaction. It’s a strong performance it kept up across the board, earning a near clean sweep of 5 Star Ratings. Runners-up PB Tech, JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman also all rated highly, with 4 Star ratings for Overall Satisfaction.
What Kiwi consumers want
Customer Service comes out as the number one factor in a great shopping experience. For those in our survey, it even tops Value for Money. Kiwis are willing to pay for a quality product, too.
Price is only cited by 17% of our shoppers as their top motivator and, overall, over half (53%) say they’d rather pay more for a quality item.
Kiwis do their research
Kiwis won’t buy an electronic product on a whim: 60% say they research their purchases thoroughly online before visiting a bricks and mortar store. And advice is appreciated, too: 35% say they respect and follow the advice of the sales staff of electronic retailers.
In fact, 14% say they often leave a retailer having bought a different model due to their in-store advice.
100% Appliances: total retail experience
100% Appliances’ stores are all 100% owned by people who live and work in each local community. And all stores pride themselves on offering expert advice and great service.
At Canstar Blue, we pride ourselves on offering expert advice, too. And the results are clear: when it comes to the best electronics retailer, there is only one choice. We’re sure you’ll be 100% satisfied with the winner of this year’s award for Electronics Retailers: 100% Appliances. For more details, click the button below.
